This performance secures Vietnam’s position among the Top 10 fastest-growing e-commerce markets in the world.
Identifying Opportunities, Challenges, and Development Orientations
VOIEF 2025 focused on discussing cross-border e-commerce development trends within the context of a global economy shifting strongly toward digital environments. The forum’s main content revolved around policy frameworks, legal corridors, and the roles of digital platforms, data, and technology in supporting Vietnamese enterprises to reach international customers.
Ms. Lai Viet Anh, Deputy Director General of the Vietnam E-commerce and Digital Economy Agency (iDEA), stated that exporting via e-commerce has become an effective market expansion channel for Vietnamese businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). She also emphasized the importance of the E-commerce Development Strategy for the 2026–2030 period and the new E-commerce Law regarding cross-border activities.

According to experts at the forum, Vietnam possesses numerous advantages for developing online exports, such as increasingly improved manufacturing capabilities, a dynamic business force, and the rapid development of digital infrastructure. However, enterprises still face significant challenges, including a lack of market intelligence, limited e-commerce operational capacity, ineffective utilization of data and digital tools, and difficulties in building international brands.
In this context, VOIEF 2025 is recognized as a highly practical forum, providing comprehensive perspectives and actionable solutions to transform online exports into one of the main pillars of Vietnam’s trade in the coming period.
